Video Review: Savage A22 Precision Rifle

Beware: After shooting the A22, other precision rimfire rifles will seem like "B"s at best!

Whether you're a new shooter or an experienced gunsel, Savage Arms' new A22 Precision bolt-action rifle is all set to spoil you for all other precision shooters. This rimfire gun, chambered for .22LR, was purpose-built for long-range accuracy. Perfect for plinking, PRS competition or varmint hunting, the A22 Precision boasts all of the features that discerning shooters look for ... and that beginning shooters should be looking for.

First, there's the AccuTrigger. A fixture on Savage rifles for many years, this is the factory trigger that will spoil you for all other triggers. Clean and crisp with just the right amount of take-up, it's user-adjustable so that you can tune it from a trigger pull weight of 6.5 lbs to a near-telekinetic 1.5 pounds. (Savage's innovative sear allows you to do this safely without worries of accidental jar-off if the rifle is dropped.)

Next, there's the no-expenses-spared construction. The rifle features an 18" carbon-steel barrel with a heavy contour; the stock is a Modular Driven Technologies (MDT) chassis. The added chassis not only provides a rigid foundation for long-range work, it also provides adjustments and plenty of room for accessories.

In this great review from American Rifleman, the Savage Arms A22 earns its "Gun of the Week" status for all of the above reasons. Check out what a terrific shooting experience you can expect from the A22 ... and note that it's all available for an MSRP of just $659. SavageArms.com
