It's been a minute, but this year marks the return of the Pyramyd Air Cup after a three-year hiatus! The competition brings together airgun shooters from around the nation to compete. Set to take place from August 24-27, 2023, the event will be held at the Cardinal Shooting Center in Marengo, Ohio. It is expected that there will be a record number of competitors this year.

In past years, the Pyramyd Air Cup has been seen as one of the handful of competitions that showcase not only the best airgunners, but also the best airguns and equipment. This year promises to be one of the best and most exciting contests in this series. As one of the world’s premier retailers of airguns, Pyramyd is able to deliver a world-class competition. There are three separate challenges taking place over the weekend:

Pyramyd Gunslynger Competition: This fast-draw bracket-style competition combines speed and accuracy for a fun and challenging event.  Competitors, paired up against each other, must knock down the designated targets (standard 1/10 scale NRA Chicken, Pig, Turkey and Ram targets) at varying distances in the shortest time possible.

Field Target: Spanning over the course of the entire weekend, the Field Target Competition will feature Open, Hunter and WFTF classes. Whether you are positioned in prone, kneeling, sitting or standing – the uncertain wind and weather conditions will make striking the “kill zone” that much more challenging.

Benchrest: This event provides the ultimate test in rifle (and shooter!) precision. Matches are won by just a few thousandths of an inch.  Accuracy, along with factoring in wind, temperature and more elements make this competition a must-do at the Pyramyd Air Cup.  Think you got what it takes?

The Pyramyd Air Cup has been sponsored in part by AirForce Airguns, the first company to mass-produce high-quality PCP air rifles in the U.S., since its inception. “We are very proud to again sponsor this match," says John McCaslin, President of AirForce Airguns. "Pyramyd is a large part of our industry and the Pyramyd Cup an important competition. Since 2014, the Pyramyd Cup has helped provide real world results that help in product development. This gives us a time and place to showcase both Rapid Air Worx and AirForce Rifles and their ability to be serious competitors.”
