NRA Youth Ambassador Review: Girls With Guns Eclipse Leggings

My name is Kali Thompson and I am an NRA National Youth Shooting Sports Ambassador. I interviewed Jenifer O’Hara, the CEO and co-founder of Girls with Guns Clothing (GWG). GWG is a small business located in Red Bluff, California that designs hunting, shooting, carrywear and casual wear made by women for women.

I asked Jenifer about the Eclipse Leggings in their Concealed Casual Collection and how they came up with the idea. GWG saw that there was a variety of products for concealed carry, but felt there was a need for women’s casual everyday wear that wasn’t being filled. As part of their working relationship with the women of The Well Armed Woman, GWG had requests to design a product to fill this need—and that’s how Concealed Casual was born. Jenifer and I discussed the product and I felt like GWG went above and beyond designing this product.

To create the Eclipse leggings, GWG started by designing and testing the holster and the elastic strap around the waist. The concept is to make sure your firearm stays in place during your day to day activities, and your trigger is covered as well. The leggings are designed for smaller self-defense pistols such as the Ruger LCP 380—which happens to be Jenifer’s favorite firearm. However, the leggings’ holster can also fit a slimmer 9mm pistol. GWG then added a few extras including a trigger guard, a place for pepper spray, an inner pocket to carry extra mags and roomy side pockets.

Girls With Guns fulfilled the void in this market space and my closet by making the product both functional and fashionable. I am very pleased with these leggings and hope that GWG comes out with more concealed carry products to keep filling the need for casual wear for today’s 2A woman.
