For the last 26 years, the South Carolina Waterfowl Association has been hosting Camp Woodie, a summer camp for juniors that hearkens back to summer camps of decades past. Complete with shotgun sports, rifle shooting, archery shooting and more, it's a sleepaway camp that boasts all the fun of the ones previous generations enjoyed. Of course, there's education about conservation as well as gun safety and handling...Camp Woodie is all about passing on our wildlife heritage to the next generation.

Camp Woodie's expert staff and instructors are hand-picked from the best of the best--including many who started as campers themselves, lo these many years ago! They deliver hands-on, fun-filled education to the next generation of outdoorsmen and women.

Campers will take part in activities like shotgun sports, rifle shooting, archery, fishing, canoeing, ziplining and so much more! Camp Woodie hosts week-long sessions for junior campers, ages 7-11, and senior campers, ages 12-16. Campers age 10 and older have the opportunity to obtain their SCDNR Hunter’s Safety Certification while at camp at no extra charge.

The cost of tuition does not have to be paid in full when you register. There are monthly payment plans available to ease the financial burden of sending your child to summer camp. Multiple weeks are full, and the others are selling out fast, so sign up today! To register, visit wildlifeedcenter.org/camp-woodie. If you have any questions, please send an email to Camp Woodie Director, Steve Maynard at [email protected].
