It's not often that a new rimfire caliber appears on the scene, so today's news that Winchester Ammunition has just launched the all-new .21 Sharp chambering is truly exciting. More exciting still is that Savage Arms has simultaneously released four rifle models chambered in that new cartridge. Created to maximize the rimfire shooting experience for recreational shooters and small-game hunters, 21 Sharp is small, fast and accurate ... not to mention affordable!

With a price point that lands between .22 LR and magnum rimfire ammunition, you'll get the benefits of a premium cartridge without breaking the bank. With bullet weights ranging from 25 to 42 grains, the 21 Sharp cartridge caters to various shooting needs, including plinking, small game hunting and target shooting.

Savage has chosen not to reinvent the wheel with its 21 Sharp-compatible rifles; instead, the revered manufacturer is introducing the new caliber in rifles you already know and love: three MARK II models and one B Series model ... a diverse lineup for a diverse range of uses! Mark II rifles are optimized for small-game hunting and plinking. Target shooters, on the other hand, will achieve precision and comfort with the modern B Series F. Its button-rifled barrel pushes accuracy to new levels and its ergonomic stock helps make shooting fun, all day long. As always, Savage has the southpaws among us covered: The 21 Sharp chambering will also be available in left and right-hand models.

This isn't just about creating a better rimfire. It's also about securing the future of shooting rimfires. The bullet's design allows for mass manufacturing of lead-free projectiles. The enhanced accuracy is a bonus! With a velocity of up to 1,750 FPS in 25-grain bullets, the 21 Sharp cartridge delivers impressive speed and power, and its compatibility with .22 LR magazines ensures shooters' ease of use and convenience.

"Rimfire caliber additions are rare," said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. "Adding the 21 Sharp to our proven and coveted rimfire lineup is a win for everyone involved. We’re excited to see how plinkers, precision shooters and small game hunters take advantage of the new performance capabilities of this cartridge." SavageArms.com
