Don't be fooled by its name; the Springfield Armory Hellion is, in fact, very well-behaved! This bullpup-style rifle is new to Springfield (and to American consumers), but it's not new to the range. In fact, it's a civilian-legal variant of a well-proven design courtesy of a Croatian company called HS Produkt. Their original rifle, the VHS-2, has been a battlefield-trusted tool for the Croatian army for years ... and the updates and changes that Springfield has given the gun do much more than simply make it semi-automatic for the American gun owner. It's loaded with great new features to make it more friendly to new and experienced shooters alike. Check out this terrific video from American Rifleman editor in chief Brian Sheetz detailing all of the reasons why the Hellion might just be the bullpup you really do want to take home.
