When it comes to your and your family's safety, it can seem a little...well, shallow...to put fashion concerns ahead of your decision whether or not to carry concealed. But let's be honest: How many of us would be willing to sport a look that was less than our best every day? There are also legitimate safety concerns about CCW methods whose unfashionable look actually draws attention to the fact that you might be carrying a gun. That's why the United States Concealed Carry Association (USCCA) is putting on its second annual Concealed Carry Fashion Show at the 2016 Concealed Carry Expo. The expo, which will be held at the Georgia International Convention Center in Atlanta, Georgia from April 29 to May 1, 2016, is open to the public and free to USCCA members. The fashion show is scheduled for Saturday, April 30, 2016; it starts at 6:30 pm and runs until 9:00 pm.
Firearms and Fashion Show Coordinator Marylin Smolinski says, "The Firearms and Fashion Show is a truly unique event. We use a mix of runway models and firearms professionals on the runway. It's really interesting to watch them bond backstage; the firearms professionals teach the models how to draw from their holsters and the models in turn teach how to walk the runway. Many of the models have become proficient shooters after participating in our show and have developed a love for the sport."
Interestingly, the growing interest in CCW seems to have inspired non-firearms-industry participation in this event. Continues Smolinski, "In addition to concealed carry, another quickly growing market is tailored clothes for men. I'm therefore excited to announce that Men's Wearhouse is collaborating with the Firearms and Fashion Show to showcase their latest fashions to be worn with concealment options from our other sponsors."Â
