Concealed-carry isn't just a "set it and forget it" proposition. Shooting skills are perishable, and that's why it's important to practice with your carry gun often. Trouble is, most Americans are juggling work, family schedules and the need to sleep ... and that means most of us have limited time to go to the range, even if we make it a priority. What are the best practice drills we can use in a limited amount of time?

One of them is called the "ball and dummy" drill, but trust us, it'll leave you "smarter." The point of this drill is to essentially trick yourself into revealing any problems with your shooting fundamentals: trigger control, breath control, follow-through. In this great short video from Shooting Illustrated's Kevin Creighton, he'll demonstrate how to do the "ball & dummy drill" and what you'll learn from it.
