Investing time in getting kids interested in the outdoors starts well before you put a gun in their hands. There are many ways to introduce your kids to the outdoors. A great way to make your kids outdoor enthusiasts is to explore with them, teaching them to observe the different flora and fauna around them. Simply taking your kids out into the blind or stand with you to see wildlife in action for the first time is a great experience and memory made.

The below video is a perfect example of one such excursion. In this YouTube video, a father has taken his young son and daughter out for a hunt. The kids are more than excited to see their first deer, and to be there when their dad shoots one. The daughter gets to make the thrilling "We got a deer" phone call to her mother, and needless to say it's pretty priceless. Check it out!
