CrossBreed Holsters has just announced its new-for-2024 Reign holster, an inside-the-waistband (IWB) holster created to allow you to carry concealed every day in comfort. It's available for purchase now, So what does it take to engineer a holster that's practical for everyday carry (EDC)?

Well, for starters, it must offer ease of wear—research and common sense dictate that people who can't get comfortable with their holsters don't wear them. The Reign boasts an ambidextrous design, ensuring accessibility and ease of use for both right- and left-handed shooters. Importantly, the Reign's design incorporates what CrossBreed calls dual-side Mid-Rise Guards, which minimize or eliminate hot spots and snag points against the body and the concealing garment.

A practical EDC holster should also be stable and secure. The Reign's dual-clip design provides that, keeping the holster securely in place throughout your daily activities. That same dual-clip configuration keeps the firearm well-supported to prevent sagging by distributing the weight further across your gunbelt. This ensures the Reign stays high on the hip and stable, even when you're on the move. The Reign also features a covered magazine release, which blocks the pistol’s mag release button. This eliminates worries about accidentally ejecting the magazine during wear or draw.

Of course, these days, most concealed-carry firearms either come with reflex sights or are ready to have one installed. It's also becoming increasingly popular to mount suppressors on carry guns. We can call these "trends," but since there's no indication that they're going away, we might as well call them "the new must-haves." So,  the Reign features an elevated sight channel and optic cut to accommodate standard and micro red dots.

Finally, the perfect EDC holster should be adjustable for fit. The Reign permits users to adjust the holster's ride height and firearm retention so you can find the ideal fit and geometry for your body and draw. You can also enhance stability and customizability by incorporating CrossBreed’s optional Xecutive ModWing and Xecutive Wedge kits. MSRP $49.95; CrossBreedHolsters.com
