Henry Repeating Arms has just announced that its wildly popular semi-automatic Homesteader 9mm rifle is now available with two M-LOK accessory slots in the front of the gun's forearm, giving you the freedom to tailor your rifle with anything from lights and lasers to grips and bipods. This rugged tool comes with with an attractive Brushed Bronze Cerakote finish that's as aesthetically pleasing as it is rugged and protective. Boasting the same trusted performance as the original Homesteader with extra features for durability and flexibility, this new iteration of the Homesteader is here for the long haul.

All Homesteader rifles use a straightforward blowback action, cycling reliably thanks to the natural pressure of each 9mm cartridge. What's great about 9mm is that it's America's most popular centerfire handgun caliber. Chambering a rifle in that same caliber means that a shooter can choose to feed both their handgun and the rifle with the same widely available ammunition, something of a hedge against ammmoo shortages.

In addition to the M-LOK slots mentioned above, the Homesteader M-LOK 9mm comes with a 1/2×28 threaded barrel. This allows for easy suppressor use when noise reduction matters. If your state doesn't allow suppressor hunting, a non-threaded version allows for state compliance where needed. The modern features don't end there: Each Homesteader features Henry’s interchangeable magazine well system, offering compatibility with Glock, SIG Sauer, or Smith & Wesson M&P magazines. It also comes with a Henry 5-round and 10-round magazine in the box, making it ready to run as soon as you are.

What's it like to shoot? Soft. The 9mm is already a fairly gentle round--especially when compared with centerfire rifle ammunition--and when the weight of a rifle is absorbing it, there's not much recoil left. What there is left meets a reciprocating mass inside the gun's forearm, which further reduces the kick. The genuine American walnut furniture is textured for a sure grip, and the soft rubber recoil pad keeps follow-up shots fast and fatigue minimal. Weighing just 6.6 lbs. and measuring under 36″ overall, this rifle is quick to shoulder and easy to maneuver indoors or out. MSRP $1,149; HenryUSA.com
