Taurus 608 Competition

Are you a wheelgunner? Taurus has some exciting news for competitive shooters and revolver enthusiasts, having just released the new-for-2024 608 Competition. It's the company’s first competition-ready revolver, and, to be precise, it is competition-ready right out of the box. Meeting all the requirements for USPSA and ICORE shooting competitions, the 608 Competition needs no aftermarket accessories, modifications or tuning.

This wheelgun boasts an eight-round capacity and is cut for moon clips to ensure speedy reloads during competition. What really sets the 608 Competition above the rest is Taurus’ custom-tuned trigger, which you can adjust without the need for a professional gunsmith—that's a level of customization rarely seen in out-of-the-box firearms. Additionally, the rear sight is removable and accepts after-market optics mounts.

Of course, some people are going to make performance tweaks, and Taurus supports that; tuning the revolver won't affect its renowned lifetime warranty.

Chambered in .357 Mag / .38 Spl +P, the Model 608 Competition is a double action/single action (DA/SA) revolver. As a true competition gun, it features a custom bull barrel that measures 6". The overall length is 11.37", and the gun weighs 51 ounces unloaded. At that size, this is not a firearm designed for concealment, although it could certainly be deployed for home defense as well as competition.

If you have been thinking about getting into revolver competition or are a long time competitor looking for a ready to go race gun, the 608 Competition is a great bet. What truly sets the Taurus 608 Competition apart is its unmatched value. While other competition-ready revolvers may require costly upgrades and customization, the 608 Competition delivers everything you need in one total package—without sacrificing quality or performance. MSRP $1,059; TaurusUSA.com.
