The 2016 National Youth Education Summit (Y.E.S.) participants arrived in the Washington D.C. area ready for the week long competitive fellowship. The 47 students participating in the Y.E.S. program attended lectures, participated in a mock Friends of NRA fundraising event, spent time on the NRA Range, attended tours of Capitol Hill, the Supreme Court, the National Museum of American History and the Museum of the Marine Corps to name a few. Girls outnumbered the boys this year and 45 of the students were also participants in the shooting sports. During this week-long summit, the students were able to gain knowledge and a better understanding of the NRA, as well as getting a glimpse of the political atmosphere in Washington, D.C.
