When Mossy Oak first introduced its wild turkey conservation camp a few short years ago, the unprecedented success of the program has ensured it will continue for years to come! Today, Mossy Oak has released its fourth collectible stamp, a classic beauty by Florida artist Jim Turlington, entitled Off the Roost. Off the Roost is the result of months of observation and field sketches for his watercolors. The scene captures a flydown that would send any turkey hunter's adrenaline skyrocketing.
All proceeds from stamp sales go directly to wild turkey conservation projects around the country. Thus far, Mossy Oak has been able to support projects such as groundbreaking and crucial LPDV research, hen survival, nesting selection and success, poult rearing, and general habitat improvement, putting more prescriptive fire on the landscape, and most recently, the most comprehensive and extensive wild turkey research project that’s ever been conducted, run by Dr. Marcus Lashley.
Says Mossy Oak founder Toxey Haas, "The fourth generation of our wild turkey conservation stamp continues--like many things--as not a new tradition, but a revived old tradition. Every spring, slowly but surely, more individual states continue to do the same and bring back decades old turkey stamp programs to raise funds to impact the wild turkey.
"That’s the importance of the 'community' of turkey hunters. This kind of care is contagious, and people who’ve bought this stamp and shared with their friends are directly responsible for helping these states pick back up where they left off. The grand total of turkey hunters who call themselves Gamekeepers continues to grow, and thousands of dollars for wild turkeys turn into millions as these stamp programs are revived."
The 2025 Mossy Oak Wild Turkey Conservation Stamp is $15 and available for purchase here.
