COVID-19 may have put the brakes on the 2021 Shooting, Hunting and Outdoor Trades (SHOT) Show, but the firearms industry is running full speed ahead. Case in point? Stoeger just launched its clay shooting and hunting Condor Field shotgun in a weather-resistant synthetic stock. This stripped-down but super reliable over/under (O/U) shotgun is a perfect introductory gun for new shooters with an MSRP of just $349...and that means you'll be able to find it at dealers for less.
At this time, the Stoeger Condor Field Synthetic is only offered in 12 gauge. With an overall length of 44 inches, a barrel length of 28 inches and clocking in at 7.3 pounds, this shotgun points and mounts smoothly and carries easily. The stock and forend are black synthetic (obviously), with a single-stage trigger and a brass-bead sight.
The Condor Field has an entry-level price point, but boasts the performance of a fine double-barrel. The shotgun’s textured synthetic stock may not have the allure of walnut, it ensures a good grip in foul weather. A crisp, single trigger facilitates quick shooting while the tang-mounted safety offers convenient switching.
The raised rib and bead sight ensure quick target acquisition while the extractors provide quick shell removal. The Condor Field’s machine-turned, monobloc sides provide durability with a tight lock up for reliability on the range or in the field. The synthetic model is available in 12 gauge with a 28-inch barrel and comes with screw-in Modified and Improved Cylinder chokes. It shoots both 2-3/4 and 3-inch shells.
“The future of shooting and hunting relies on getting new shooters into the field or clays course,” said Tim Joseph, vice president of Brand Marketing. “One of the main reasons people forego taking on one of these hobbies is the associated costs. The Condor Field in synthetic delivers high performance offered by the over-and-under platform at a price that is soft on the wallet. The Condor Field provides versatility by offering a dual-purpose shotgun for both the shooting line and the field.”
