New Guns 2025: Diamondback SDR 9mm Luger Revolver

Diamondback introduces a line of six new wheelguns perfected for CCW.

Sometimes it seems as if semi-automatic microcompacts rule the roost when it comes to CCW. But Diamondback Firearms would like to remind us that the revolver platform is a tried-and-true defensive dynamo with its SDR revolver lineup, which the company is expanding this year with a new, compact version chambered in 9mm Luger.

Yes, 9mm! What makes this such a great idea is that many home defenders like to keep all of their firearms on the same caliber, so ammo can be interchanged. For example, one may keep a defensive 9mm revolver carried on the body, with a defensive 9mm carbine in a discreet gun safe at home, so all one needs to stock is 9mm.

As with most CCW-ready wheelguns, the SDR lineup makes use of a short 2" barrel. It has also had its exterior surfaces rounded off and smoothed for easy carry and a quick draw. It features a six-round cylinder that uses moon clips to easily load and remove spent cartridges. A push-button, captured cylinder crane allows users to quickly and easily remove the cylinder for cleaning. Diamondback also has a 3"-barreled model available in 2025, as well as an all-black model. There are six models in total, with MSRPs ranging from $777-$853, depending upon model chosen. DiamondbackFirearms.com
