When Savage Arms first released its AXIS line of bolt-action rifles in 2010, it set new expectations for out-of-the-box accuracy in a wallet-friendly package. It was an instant classic, but Savage never stops in its pursuit of bullseyes and bucks. Today, Savage announces the next evolution of its renowned AXIS rifle line, and it's a complete line--whether you're looking for a left-hand model, a compact model or just a tackdriving bolt gun, Savage has an AXIS for you. They're available now, in plenty of time for the 2024 hunting season. Best of all? These unbelievably accurate Savage rifles come in at $480-$689 with an included, factory-mounted, boresighted scope!

"AXIS is built for everyone from novices to experts, said Beth Shimanski, Director of Marketing at Savage Arms. "We have the right rifle for anyone with options that include wood, camo, compact, left hand, multiple colors and just about every combination within that mix; all with unmatched accuracy and performance, right out of the box."

What's New?

The new AXIS lineup is everything we love about the original AXIS, only so much more so. The biggest news is that Savage's legendary AccuTrigger (which wasn't available on the original line) is now part of the package. If you haven't experienced the AccuTrigger in person, you absolutely should head down to your local gun store and see about giving one a (SAFE) dry-fire. It's a factory trigger that will spoil you for all future factory triggers.

These rifles also include button-rifled barrels and thread-in head spacing. Savage updated the bolt handle with a sleek new ergonomic design that helps enhance your control and comfort during operation, especially in adverse conditions like rain or cold weather. Whether a shooter prefers a full-size, compact or left-hand model, Savage Arms offers a new AXIS to fit their needs. They're also available in a variety of finishes; look for the AXIS 2 in OD Green, Gray and flat dark earth (FDE).

The AXIS 2 XP combines the functionality of the AXIS XP with the performance of the user-adjustable AccuTrigger in the AXIS 2. It comes standard with a factory-mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40 scope with fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage and elevation adjustments. The AXIS 2 XP is available in a wide variety of calibers, the same stock color options as AXIS 2, and in compact, left-hand and compact left-hand models. The AXIS 2 XP models have an MSRP of $549.00.

Would you rather have a rifle dressed in luxury Turkish walnut? The AXIS 2 XP HARDWOOD features enhanced ergonomics with its HARDWOOD stock. This model includes laser-cut stippling on the pistol grip and forend for easier handling in all conditions. The AXIS 2 XP HARDWOOD gives hunters the classic look of a walnut stock with all of the modern features of the new AXIS platform. A factory mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40 scope with fully multi-coated lenses and tool-less windage and elevation adjustments is included. The AXIS 2 XP HARDWOOD is available for $689.00.

The final addition to the updated AXIS line, the AXIS 2 PRO, boasts all of the best features of the AXIS family. These PRO models showcase Savage camouflage patterns Woodland and Western, with Cerakote finishes to both match and outlast the elements. Add a threaded barrel and a one-piece rail, and these rifles are ready to get to the range and into the field. All models are available for $489.00 and come with a factory-mounted and bore-sighted 3-9x40 scope. SavageArms.com.
