Comfy, functional and pretty? Where do I sign?
Where is it written that tactical clothing designed for women must be either unflattering or ineffective? Not at 5.11 Tactical's booth at the 2019 SHOT Show, that's for sure. Long a leader in designing and producing top-quality women's tactical and outdoor wear, 5.11's latest offerings prove that they refuse to rest on their laurels. Case in point? Two new tactical yoga pant offerings that you need in your life--even if you don't shoot 3-Gun.
First up is the Abbey Tight (pictured above, paired with the Emma Full-Zip jacket). Although this tight doesn't have belt loops, it does have drop pockets that are capable of holding a full-size AR-15 magazine...or just about anything else that size. Special fabric at the knees works almost like heat transfer tape, keeping the tights lightweight and breathable while offering superior range of motion and durability.
But if you're looking for a pant that's flattering, functional and ready for tough, active conditions? You're going to want to look into the Harper pant.
The Harper is an evolutionary next step from the company's wildly popular Raven Range tight. After feedback from competitive shooters that the Raven could sometimes be a bit heavy for warm-weather conditions, 5.11 set to work on creating the Harper. The thinner, lighter-weight fabric is extremely durable, but breathable.
Reinforced at wearpoints, and adorned with breathable, anti-snag coating, the Harper also boasts abrasion-resistant fabric at the hips and waist to prevent fraying due to holsters. The high-waisted design conforms to a woman's curves while preventing "slippage" at the back when you're kneeling or bending. And then there are the pockets: two reinforced, zippered pockets, each capable of holding a 30-round AR magazine...or anything else around that size.
