"Trigger control is nothing more than getting the gun to shoot once you get the sights where you want them," says 12-time NRA National Pistol Champion Brian Zins. Of course, there's a lot more to it than that, even if you're just discussing a very specific shooting discipline--in this case, Bullseye. "There's no sense in aiming if you can't pull the trigger without disturbing the sights," he continues. It's a different way of envisioning the firing process than is taught by some instructors, but Zins' method has been terrifically effective for him and his students at Point Blank Range (which is one of the cleverest shooting-school sobriquets we've ever seen).
Whether you find the Zins method for trigger squeeze the best for you, or whether you prefer a more traditional approach, remember that safety always comes first! If you're doing dry-fire practice, always ensure that the firearm is clear of all ammunition (please check and then double-check), and that, in fact, all live ammunition has been removed from the room.
