Fabrique Nationale, which we Americans just call "FN," has recently released its first pistol chambered in the hard-hitting 10mm. Built on the engineering of FN's wildly popular 509 Tactical handgun, which was itself originally developed for military use, this is a rock-solid platform known for its reliability.
Like others in FN’s Tactical series, the 510 boasts a threaded barrel and suppressor-height sights so users can easily install a silencer. Of course, one of the most visually impactful elements of the 510 is its 22-round extended magazine, which makes this one of the highest-capacity 10 mm handguns available. Naturally, a 15-round flush-fit magazine also ships with the pistol, and 10-rounders are also available for owners living in states with magazine-capacity restrictions.
Our American Rifleman testers just had to get it to the range. Their verdict? "On the range with the FN 510 Tactical, you’ll notice the gun’s unique grip texturing, which combines three different patterns at work in strategic areas in order to solidify the gun’s position in a shooter’s hand," they commented. "Considering the added power of the 10 mm cartridge, this is a welcome benefit. We found the gun to be a pretty comfortable shooter, despite the chambering, and enjoyed having 23 rounds of 10mm Auto on tap with this extended magazine."
Of course, there's more to the FN 510 Tactical, and it's all available in this fantastic video from our friends at American Rifleman! For more information on the FN 510 Tactical, visit FNAmerica.com.
